Is there an internet monitoring program that just records website and search terms?
Q. I am looking for an internet monitoring software that doesn't totally compromise privacy. I would like something that would send an email (or post on a website) the internet addresses that the user went to and the search terms that were entered but no passwords, screenshots etc. Pretty much just a record of the history. Do any such programs exist?

search terms for real estate law case about lease and standing of alterations made?
Q. the case: a space is rented, altered (allowed by landlord) under the condition that at the end of the lease it will be returned to its original state. At the end of the lease said removal or alterations are not made. Former tenant claims that the alterations improve the space. Appraisers agree. Landlord still wants money to remove alterations. What search terms or case law is there that can be used in researching this situation?
Asked by jslockly - Wed Dec 12 20:04:47 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. the situation here is what is in writing, if everything is verbal the tenant is in trouble, because no alterations are allowed by lease. if its in writing saying the alterations are allowed then the landlord is not going to collect, unless it says the alterations must be removed upon termination of the lease than the tenant is in trouble. it doesnt matter what the appraisers say, this issue will be determined by what is written. so decide where you stand and act accordingly. if you have it in writting tell the landlord to go pound sound if not be prepared to pony up.

Could someone get in trouble for search terms entered into Google.?
Q. I had to use some search terms in Google once, which could be seen in the wrong light if interpreted the wrong way. Even if there is no ongoing criminal investigation, could Google still find those search terms and get me in trouble. I already know that Google tracks your search terms and can link them to you and your computer. Please answer, I'm a little nervous about this. Thanks.

A. If your search looked something like this: How to assassinate the President without getting caught How to blow up major US buildings How to take over the world Then MAYBE, if they had some other reason to believe you were a crazy terrorist bent on world destruction they would come after you. With a clean criminal record and a one time search of something bad they won't care. Don't sweat it, you're fine!

Q. For example. If someone searches for "banana trees" in google, and they click on one of the search results that leads to my website on bananas, how can I capture the fact that "banana trees" was the keywords that led to my site? bow4bass has the right idea. Any other links or recommended sites to visit about this? Also, is this the only way to do it?

A. Take a look at my other post:) All the submissions do not work... The only way to allow those keywords to be placed on the engines is to allow your website to be online for a period of time. Google works on pagerank, the more the links to your website the popular it is. You have to somehow let google / yahoo/ msn know that your website is live... To do so is by submission to their database. Goto each website and see the submite website link there. What that does is it allows you to have a chance to let google take a look or anyother webengine take a look at your page for a small period of time. Be aware that your website should meet its needs. This is called Search Engine Optimization. For instance Google is looking for: 1- Links -… [cont.]

A. Go into Tools - Internet Options - and on the General tab, look at the history area. You then click 'Clear History'. It will also allow you to decide how long to keep search items in the bar for. However, i should warn you, do NOT delete your cookies, which are also on the same tab. this will prevent you from accessing your internet altogether. trust me, i did this once at work while covering my naughty email-checking-in-work-ho urs self!!
