A market trend is a putative prevailing course or tendency of a financial market to move in a particular direction over time. These trends are classified as secular trends for long-term time frames, primary trends for mid-term periods, and secondary trends lasting short times. Traders identify market trends using technical analysis, a framework which characterizes market trends as a predictable price response of the market at levels of price support and price resistance, varying over time. The terms bull market and bear market describe upward and downward market trends, respectively, and can be used to describe either the market as a whole or specific sectors and securities. Secular market trendsA secular market trend is a long-term trend that lasts 5 to 25 years and consists of a series of sequential primary trends. In a secular bull market the prevailing trend is bullish or upward moving. The United States was described as being in a secular bull market from about 1983 to 2000 (or 2007), with brief upsets including the crash of 1987 and the dot-com bust of 2000–2002. In a secular bear market, the prevailing trend is bearish or downward moving. An example of a secular bear market was seen in gold during the period between January 1980 to June 1999, culminating with the Brown Bottom. During this period the nominal gold price fell from a high of $850/oz ($30/g) to a low of $253/oz ($9/g), and became part of the Great Commodities Depression. Primary market trendsA primary trend has broad support throughout the entire market or market sector and lasts for a year or more. From Wikipedia under the

I don't know what exactly you are asking, but I am assuming you are asking about treatments and diagnostic practices. The treatments are the same, colon resection, chemo, radiation, and the like, but the diagnostic practices are evolving drastically. In addition to the wonderful colonoscopy, there are new genetic tests available. You can have blood tests and genetic counseling done to see if you have the gene that is a marker for colon cancer. If you have the gene (or don't for that matter), it doesn't mean that you have or don't have cancer, just that you are much more likely to get it. Answered by frankie3919 - Thu Nov 16 11:49:00 2006 Are there any trends in the stock market post-Christmas? Q. Does it usually go up or down? What are some of the factors that feed into these trends? Asked by onitsalagi - Fri Dec 19 16:01:12 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. The January affect is very valid. This is not my opinion but a statistic, you should see how the first 5-6 days of the new year trade, if the S&P's first 5 days show a net gain, the remainder of the year will be a bull market, this has been true 86.1% of the time since 1950 when this study began. 10 of the last 14 post-election years followed the direction of the first five days! Also, every year since 1950 that January showed a net loss for the month, the year was either flat, or a bear market...Without exception! Again, these are statistics taken straight from the stock trader's almanac. The factors that feed into the trends, interest rates, business cycles coming to an end, market pshychology, sentiment being negative or positive,… [cont.] Answered by JP - Mon Dec 22 17:59:25 2008 market research study on tipping trends in restaurants?
Q. For my market research class I'm doing a study on consumer spending in restaurants and tipping trends. Does anyone know where I can find those pocket sized tip helpers... You know the ones that say if your bill is this much you'd tip this much based on different percentages... I have to survey at least 75 to 100 people, as an incentive to filling out the survey I want to give people this tip card helper. I need to find out where to buy them in bulk...
